Oswego County, New York

Last Updated August 2024.

I grew up here, & today I am a local town historian. I am currently redeveloping this section. Please come back soon for the finished product!

This county borders southeastern Lake Ontario. Many local families can trace their histories here back to the Revolutionary War & War of 1812.

Many French-Canadians settled here after traveling down the St. Lawrence River to the Great Lake, then down the Oswego or Salmon Rivers.

The Onondaga Tribe, of the Iroquois Nation, were the earliest known inhabitants.
